Christmas eve is a time for hope.

Today, I am taking a break from writing about my diet and path to health.

Every year on December 24, my parents would let us open a present.  Christmas is a huge time for businesses to make money.  We have over comercialized the holiday and I think it is time to return to its roots.  We need to return to the ritual of hope, one in which we celebrated the gift of giving, and the joy of gratitude.

Look at Hong Kong right now.  The locals are protesting the prosecution of religion and the communist and socialist government.  We, as American and free westerners, should help. We should pray for the Chineese to look to peace and avoid violence.  I am not sure they would accept our help, but we should offer the Chineese goverment out help to assist in negotiation.

Christmas morning, unfortunately, is an unfortunate picture of disappointment.  I pray that this is not the case in this story.  Twenty years ago, I had similar prayers and the current state of the world makes me think of this period.

Twenty years ago, I was deployed to Kosovo.  The local Serbs (Orthodox Christain) and Kosovar Muslims were fighting each other and I was deployed in the middle.  They would blow up churches and mosques.  In fact, nearly twenty years ago to the minute, a pizza joint was attacked with grenades because it was frequented by one side or the other.

Tonight, I will pray for peace.  Why can’t we be happy and accept other for that they are.  We do nto need to kill each other becasue we do not agree.

The bottom line: Pray for peace.  It brings our weight challenges into prospective.  Be happy and enjoy yoru family.
