A new word to learn but eating method to avoid.

Portion Control
Portion Control

Definition:

Snarfing: To eat or drink something very quickly in a way that people think is greedy.

I am always amazed at how fast people can consume food. Personally, I have always eaten fast, but my eating speed picked up during medical school and basic training. Both are a set up for poor eating habits because you have limited eating options and limited time to consume the food you choose.

Face the fact that Eating fast destroys you portion control. Sitting down and eating large amounts of food in a short period of time is always going to result in weight gain. No one can lose weight if they site down with a bag of chips or box of cookies and eat the whole thing in one sitting.

I would never say you could not eat Cookies, but snarfing down multiple servings in a sitting is not gonna promote a healthy lifestyle. We’re in the real world now and we all need to face the fact that Portion control is key to successful weight management.

The bottom line: Eating slowly And shewing you food more has been linked to a healthier weight. Don’t snarf your food and control your portion size.
