Hatred must end today.

Stop the hate

After the event of the last several weeks, I feel that I must speak out.  I know this is a weight loss blog, but I am going to write this article in response to the villainizing that has occurred and the tragic deaths that have occurred.

Whether you are conservative, liberal, or moderate, we must all step forward and agree to stop the hate.  In recent weeks, many have begun to villainize or demonize people for their views, ethnicity, and religious beliefs.  The madman that sent bombs to liberals and the crazy shooter of the Pittsburgh synagogue both were committing a hate crime toward someone because of their religion or political beliefs.  We need to be more accepting of others and end the hate.

I rarely agree with anyone all of the time, but my travels and exposure to other cultures have taught me that I must be more accepting.  With our increasing partisan culture that automatically villainizes or demonizes other just for differing views, we need to learn from things like the Judge Kavanaugh hearing.  This poor man’s life and family were destroyed solely by the words of one person without any evidence.  The witness statement of one person should not be enough and it should not be done for political purposes.   Unfortunately, in this case, we lost the innocent until you are proven guilty portion of our judicial system.

The bottom line: Stop the hate.  We owe the victims in Pittsburgh more.  Take a moment and think about these events and strive to be more accepting of those that live, think, and worship differently.
