Healthier Cheddar Burger

This a healthier version of a recipe I once tried from Blue Apron.  I loved it so much that I slimmed it down.

Healthier Cheddar Burger

This is a simple burger you can make in about 30 minutes. It is has a nice garlic flavor.

Ingredients
  1. 1 pound of ground beef - recommend 96% fat-free
  2. 1 ounce of cheddar, shredded
  3. 3 pieces of Grainiac Bread from Eureka
  4. 1/2 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  5. 1 tbsp olive oil
  6. 1 tsp garlic paste
  7. salt
  8. pepper
  9. favorite fancy mustard

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Place onion in medium or large pan and drizzle over 1 tbsp of olive oil. Cook on medium heat until caramelized and soft.
  3. Place onions in bowl and wipe out pan.
  4. Toast bread in oven for 1-3 minutes. You could use a toaster if you prefer. I used 1/2 slice for each side of the hamburger.
  5. Mix beef with garlic paste and add salt and pepper to desired level.
  6. Cook on medium heat for 3-5 minutes per side or until browned. On second side, add onions and 1/3 of cheese to allow the cheese to melt.
  7. Put a thin layer of mustard on the inside of each slice of bread and place meat on the "bun".
Notes
  1. This is a delicious recipe I am sure you will love. The recipe has 5 mg of fiber. Enjoy.
