Motivation Tip 29 – Keep a Motivational Journal

Occasionally, you may have a setback or slow down in your weight loss.  Don’t be too hard on yourself.  One of the best motivators in your weight loss journey is yourself.

Keep a motivational journal of your weight loss goals and inspirations can help keep you on track.  It can be handwritten, a blog, a scrapbook, a Pinterest board, a photo collage, any form you want it to take.  It just needs to be a physical thing, something you can look over when you feel like giving up or have lost your motivation.

Life gets in the way sometimes. A particularly difficult week at work, traveling, houseguests, illness, injury, weather – if you exercise outdoors, all sorts of things can lead to a setback or slow down in your weight loss.  These life events can be either positive or negative, no matter which, it can be demoralizing when you hit that speed bump.  When this happens, review your motivational journal to rekindle your determination and right yourself on the path to a healthier you.
