Many of us are looking for the newest quick loss diet to find an easy way out of the work for weight loss.  I would suggest that you consider something simpler and that is to eat slowly.  This topic, chewing slowly,  is the center of one of the first research articles I wrote. The point is that eating slowly is something everyone can try and it may work for you.  No matter what diet type you are eating, eating slowly is worth a trial.

The faster you eat, the less likely you will enjoy or even full taste or savor the food you eat.  Your hunger and satiety hormones need time to take effect.  The more you chew, the slower you eat and the more time your brain and nervous system have to determine you are full, so chew slowly and allow your brain the react.  It takes around 20 minutes for your stomach to signal your brain that it was full and to stop eating.  If you eat the meal fast, your brain and body do not have enough time to send the signal or interpret the signal, so you will not know you have overeaten.

The bottom line: Chew slowly and savor your food.  You will be more satisfied with less and less likely to back for seconds.  Eating slowly helps your body register when it has had enough so slow down!
