Weight Loss Tip 58 – Expect and Plan for Setbacks

We have all been there before.  You plan for this great success and then a few small slip-ups, and you are totally defeated, physically and emotionally.  Your path to health now has encountered a road bump or block, and you now feel as if you have lost your way.

We are all bound to give in to temptation from time to time.  For me, it is usually some form of cake at a work function.  The problem is not the temptation or even giving into it on occasion.  The problem is not a one time splurge.  Rather, the problem is letting it turn into an excuse for an all-out binge.  So you have eaten a serving of those special edition M&Ms but that doe into mean you have to finish off the whole bag.

We are human.  No one is perfect.  Setbacks are a part of being human.  You can’t expect your weight loss attempts to be entirely flawless, but don’t let that discourage you. You very well may encounter a few missteps along the way.  No matter what the case, there’s always room to undo what you have done and it is never too late to try again.

Every day is a new day in which we can make up for a previous weight loss attempt that was less successful than you planned.   I recommend that you make up for your mistake by working twice as hard the next time.

The bottom line: One splurge is not the end of the world.  Learn from your misstep and make up for it by working hard to correct your mistake.
