Low Carbohydrate

Low Carbohydrate

The fact is that low-carb diets are effective at weight loss.  I have been told that eating fat will make you fat.  It is actually much more complicated than that.  Excess calories are the cause of weight gain, and in particular, carbohydrates are the easiest to cut and research points to cutting carbohydrates as a secret to successful weight loss.

Why does low carbohydrate levels help weight loss? Too many carbohydrates lead to too much insulin being released. An insulin spike is actually the problem.  The spike in insulin levels is terrible if you’re trying to get rid of stubborn belly fat because one of insulin’s roles in the body relates to fat storage.  Insulin reduces the breakdown of fat cells and

stimulates the creation of body fat and central obesity.  When you consume carbohydrates, they are converted into glucose by your body and insulin is required to clear the blood of excess glucose.  If we reduce the amounts of carbohydrates in our diet, we produce less insulin and thus store less fat and burn more fat.

The bottom line: Low-carb works at stripping off hard to lose belly fat.  There are multiple forms to try, and all seem to help with weight loss.  The problem is maintaining the weight loss.  If you go low carb, you must continue it to keep the weight off.
