Pomegranate Ginger Chai Tea Latte
This recipe is for a lower calorie chai latte with the zing of ginger. You can easily increase or decrease the calories with less milk or milk substitute. Many have long considered ginger, like ginseng, to be the ‘secret to a healthier life’. For centuries, people around the world have been using it both to add a little zing to their diet and for its potential health benefits. This small fibrous root is a perfect addition to teas and smoothies. I especially like to use Ginger Shots to get around the difficulty of incorporating it into the drink.
- 1 cups almond or coconut milk (or milk of your choice)
- 1 cup of hot water
- 1 chai or black tea bag
- 3 Tbsp Ginger Shot Pomegranate Ginger (about ½ to 1 bottle)
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 Tbsp honey (optional)
- Ground cinnamon
- Heat "milk" and water. Steep the tea bag for 5 minutes. Remove tea bag and froth milk (optional). I chose not to froth and I used coconut milk. Stir in coconut oil, Ginger Shot, and honey. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and enjoy,
- Cook time is about 3 minutes.
