We have all heard it at one time during our life: breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  You can’t go wrong with a healthy breakfast as your first meal of the day because it will keep you full all morning long.  You are in a hurry to get out the door, but instead of rushing, take your time and savor your food.  

Skipping breakfast can set you up for overeating later in the day.  By mid-morning you will be a snacker on the prowl for a sweet candy bar or a salty bag of chips.  A healthy and balanced breakfast will give you energy, satisfy your appetite, and set the stage for smart decisions all day long.  Eating a healthy breakfast is crucial to help kickstart metabolism and assist you with making healthier food choices throughout the day. The ideal breakfast includes protein, healthy fat, and whole grains.  The key is a mixture of protein and fiber to keep you full all day.  

The bottom line: A balanced, nutritious, and filling breakfast is the way to start your day off right.  Eat one every morning and avoid the mid-morning snack binge.
